TripleTee DNS Syncronization Service (3TDNS) - the unique utility that automatically synchronizes DNS information between primary ('Master') and secondary ('Slave') Microsoft® DNS servers.

It is an essential part of providing DNS service to ensure its stable and reliable functioning. Setting up primary and secondary zones on different servers ensures reliable domain name resolution. While setting up zone transfer is an trivial operation, it becomes a challanging task for hosting companies who provide their customers with DNS service. User can add/remove domain names at any time, and DNS information should be propagated to all secondary nameservers. Unfortunately, MS DNS server does not provide this functionality 'out-of-the-box', and the only supplemental tool DNSCMD.exe does not help either.

TripleTee DNS Syncronization Service solves this problem by providing automatic one-way DNS data synchronization. The application monitors primary ('Master') server and performs next actions:
  • when new primary zone is added to Master DNS server, the zone SOA record gets updated to allow automatic zone transfer to Secondary (Slave) server. Correspondent secondary zone is created on Slave server and setup to receive zone information from Master server.
  • when primary zone gets deleted on Master DNS server, correspondent secondary zone is deleted on Slave DNS server.

3TDNS is a native Windows service. This means that the service can be started at system boot, or at any other time, without the need for any wrapper code to start the service. The service can be managed like any other Windows service:
  • directly using command-line command:
    	c:/>3TDNS.exe -install
    	c:/>3TDNS.exe -start etc.

  • using command-line tools
    	c:/>net start 3TDNS
    	c:/>net stop 3TDNS etc.

  • using GUI tools (by launching "Services" from the Windows Control Panel => Administrative Tools or typing "Services.msc" in the Run command on Start menu.
